Our work revolves around the human experience of a world saturated with technology. In particular, we are interested in the (im)possibilities of exchange proposed by the notion of the interface. The interface is usually regarded as a meeting point between subject and object, a place for action and reaction, sometimes even as tangible access to the artwork. It seems necessary to us to doubt the promise of the interface and to question the idea of interactivity being synonymous with communication, dialogue or exchange. We take as an axiom that an interface is never what it claims to be. From that standpoint the interface becomes a means of control, a distraction, a barrier, a wall. Through reworking different types of interfaces we aim to destabilise their habitual function and in this way bring to light their underlying ambiguity.
